Alain-Marie TREMBLAY has lived and worked in Val-David for several decades. This publication covers more than half a century of research and experimentation in the field of ceramics. This is an extended field that ranges from pottery - utilitarian and decorative - to sculpture, exhibitions in galleries and works integrated into architecture and the environment, including the creation of book-objects, painted or drawn mural plaques, and, on a more technical level, the invention of new material - termed ''betonic'' - that is perfectly adapted to the rigours of Nordic winters.
Three authors have been invited to write essays, threby contributing their personal reflections: Serge FISETTE, editor of Espace magazine, Manon REGIMBAL, a critic and art historian, and Jacques CARON, a philosopher. Also, a father-daughter (Eve K. TREMBLAY) interview uncovers touching memories through which links of reciprocal filiations and influences are forged.
